I've been wanting to visit Meghalaya for a while now, and this has convinced me to see it during the monsoon. And yes, Meghalaya in monsoons may not be for everyone, but its beauty holds something unique in every season. Thank you for sharing it so candidly here.
Love your travel pieces. And I enjoyed this one more because you shared such good points which I've been advocating for a long time now - 'A personal request: If you are visiting a “hidden gem”, please avoid geo-tagging or revealing them publicly, especially if you are a travel influencer.'
I hope such places remain untouched by the masses so that the beauty of such places can be preserved. :)
Thank you so much Abhishek! I’m so glad that there are more people like you who are advocating against geo-tagging! Have seen a lot of remote places destroyed but I still hope that more places can be preserved because of the awareness nowadays.
September sounds nice! I might have probably been there in September to do Durga Puja shopping during my childhood. We usually used to buy winter wear from Shillong - or hand knitted by grandma and ma.

Thank you Komal! I’m sure you’ll love it! I’m also hoping to visit it soon again.

Seeing our negligence ruining a place is very painful
I know right? It’s so heartbreaking.
I been to Meghalaya in different seasons - Monsoon, between Monsoon and Winter and of course winter months - All are my favorites.
But, I must say the time between the rainy months and winter - September is a unique experience. You get a mix of both.
