In South India, January is the best time to have a wholesome coffee plantation experience as that's the harvest season.

I visited end-of-December, and thankfully the harvesting had begun by then. :)

Thanks for writing and sharing this! I thoroughly enjoyed the read although I haven’t been able to drink coffee for some time due to a health issue. I used to love it so much that I wrote a poem, “Ode to My Mug!” :)

Aw, thanks! It was just a little ditty:

me and my good friend, mug,

sat down together for a morning hug.

staring into the fire we thought

friendship like this just can’t be bought.

always warm and smooth

hand in hand we fit a groove,

my heart expands, my belly giggles

like a child lovingly tickled.

Omg, that Egg Coffee in Vietnam looks amazing! Did it taste very egg-y or was it actually good? Never had one--you got me so curious!

Hey Caterina, it wasn’t egg-y at all. Was delicious. I don’t know the recipe, but basically the eggs make the coffee creamy. Coconut coffee was also very good but I loved the egg coffee much more :)

Namrata, it seems you know everything about coffee. 😄It's strange for the girl who grew up in the area full of tea plantations! But I understand you - nothing can beat the aroma of good coffee. Especially in the morning!

Hi Victoria.

My mom told me the same in this very trip! :)

Although, coffee is my favourite but I hope to do a tea plantation exploration too, whenever I visit my native place next.

Read this lovely piece with a cup of coffee in hand. I have been wanting to go to a coffee plantation myself. Making a mental note like you did to visit one super soon!

Thanks for sharing Namrata.

Thank you so much Rishabh. Glad you liked reading it.

Also, January is the best time for a more complete coffee experience, as that's the harvest season. I visited end of December and thankfully it had started by then. I missed mentioning this.

Your coffee journey sounds amazing, Namrata! I had stopped drinking coffee in India, but I started again a few years ago when I moved abroad. Maybe I can tell a good coffee from a bad one, but I'm probably clueless about roasting. Learning about coffee seems like such an interesting thing, and I’d definitely love to experience it someday. Thanks for sharing!

Yes! Its really interesting. A lot of resorts / homestays, situated in estates do such immersive walks and tours.

I personal loved my experience in Coorg this time. Beyond the sightseeing, travellers who like such experiental things should definitely check it out.
